Our dojo will be closed from Friday 2pm through Sunday (10/12 through 10/14/18) because our mats will be used at the Jan Nevelius (John’s teacher) Aikido Seminar at Seattle Central College this weekend.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and appreciate your support and understanding.
For seminar details go to: https://aikidoseattle.org/events/nevelius-2018
John Peng will be practicing QiGong Monday and Wednesdays nights, 6pm-6:25pm. Free to all dojo members. $5/class or $20/month for non-members (first class to try it is free). No experience necessary.
John is not a QiGong expert, but is student of QiGong, as learned from Jan Nevelius Shihan. John will be sharing his experiences and practice with the dojo and community at large.
There is no falling, no partner contact, and it is very gentle easy on the joints and body.
Please come and experience these QiGong breathing and mindfulness exercises in our dojo.
Hope to see you on the mat.
As a reminder, the dojo will be closed starting Friday 2:30pm through Sunday 2:30pm. Apologies for all that are inconvenienced, our mats are being used at the Jan Nevelius Shihan seminar at Seattle Central College Friday through Sunday. Classes will resume as usual on Monday. Thank you for your cooperation and support. – John
sorry for the late notice, but due to Easter Sunday, there will be no class on 4/5/15 at 930am.
Please come this Saturday 3/21 at 12:30, to the dojo re-blessing ceremony. There will be no regular kids/teens classes that day; instead we’ll begin at 12:30 with an all-dojo class.
Here’s the schedule:
12:30 – 1:15: open class for all dojo students, led by Helmut and Evan.
1:30 – 2:00: re-blessing ceremony with Ryuzen Robby Pellett*.
2:00: open class for all dojo students, led by adult-program instructors.
3:30: approximate end time.
Hope to see you all this weekend!
*Robby Pellett brought Shinto Ryu Iai-BattoJutsu to the Seattle School of Aikido many years ago. He is a zen priest, or ryuzen, in the line of Soto Zen Buddhism.
This new time works better for most folks.
There will be no class on Sunday am 2/15.
The new class time will go into effect as of 2/22.
See you at 930am!
Come join us for a 2 month introduction to aikido. Classes are Monday and Wednesday nights, 630-745pm.
No experience needed, come wearing comfortable exercise clothes (long pants recommended) and experience aikido first hand.
Improve your balance, decrease your tension in response to stress, begin to understand the nature of conflict, and see how by changing ourselves, we can perhaps change our partner.
Cost is $100 for the 2 month series, come a little early on the first day (Mon Feb 2) to enroll.
Hope to see you on the mat!
– John Peng, 2nd Dan Aikikai
Chief Instructor, Adult Aikido
There will be no Sunday aikido classes for October.
Sunday classes 9am-1030am will resume again in November.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but I will be at the seminar next weekend 10/19, and out of town the following weekend 10/26.
